Thales Research & Technology, come to discover the techno of the future!

Biggest research center of Thales, Palaiseau plant is a great example of collaboration between public and private research.

Research on quantum sensors is promising and the first applications will arrive quickly. We can mention the quantum antenna which size is reduced by a factor of up to 10,000 to receive the same capacity than a “normal” antenna. We can also mention the cold atom navigation units which will provide a positioning information with a breakthrough in accuracy compared to current technologies. It could be a credible alternative to geolocalisation when GPS is not available.

On the artificial intelligence side, Thales’ largest research center in this field is particularly focused on making AI reliable, explainable and adapted to critical systems and infrastructures.

In the “New Physics” category, artificial nano-neurons, inspired by the brain, aim to perform specialized AI tasks without any computer and in a much more energy-efficient way.
